Life

Who really understands life. I know I don’t . I just try to be the best person I can each day. I know I am tired of struggling everyday, but there again it’s life. You can’t change back time. You only learn from your mistakes or just keep repeating yourself. We don’t have much here. We just try to do the best we can each day. You are the only one who can change your future. Wake up each day with a smile. Cause not everyone gets to wake up.

The Little Ones

The most precious thing is a baby. I remember when both of my boys were born. Even talking to them,reading to them, and feeling them kick. That also was pretty amazing. When the time comes and your in the room. There is no words to really explain it . That is one thing I will not forget. Holding your baby for the first time. Feeding them for first time. Changing them for the first time. These are all things that nobody can take away from me. Even cutting the umbilical cord . The crying part is not my favorite,but that is the only way they can talk to us as parents. Their first steps and their first words. It is amazing the stages a baby goes through. I can’t get it through my mind how someone could hurt a child. They look up to us as they grow . We are their heros. Whatever you do or say . They soak it up like a sponge. However you act. They pick up on it. I pray for all childrens safety from all the bad things in this crazy world. I just wish I could save all of them from the pain that they receive. Wish I could protect them from all diseases and evil. I won’t never understand why these things happen to kids. They don’t deserve it. They didn’t say ” Hey. I want to be born so all these bad things can happen to me.” They don’t have a choice in none of it. They are all helpless. We as parents need to be all we can be for our children. There is nothing in this world I wouldn’t do for my kids. I don’t care if it would kill me. I pray for peace. Maybe one day somebody will protect them all. I know I can’t. Pray,Pray, and Pray some more for all the children.

Don’t Forget Christ

Xmas is a common abbreviation of the word Christmas. It is sometimes pronounced /ˈɛksməs/, but Xmas and variants such as Xtemass, originated as handwriting abbreviations for the typical pronunciation /ˈkrɪsməs/. The “-mas” part is from the Latin-derived Old English word for Mass,[1] while the “X” comes from the Greek letter Chi, which is the first letter of the Greek wordΧριστός which comes into English as “Christ“.[2]

There is a common belief that the wordXmas stems from a secular attempt to remove the religious tradition from Christmas[3] by taking the “Christ” out of “Christmas”, but its use dates back to the 16th century.

So let’s not forget what CHRIST is about. Cause he didn’t forget about our sins. He died for everyone not just a few selected one’s. Happy birthday. Thanks for all your blessings.

Here We Are

Almost six months ago. We were in North Alabama. We were laying in bed fixing to go to sleep. I looked at my wife Angela and said ” let’s go to the beach “. She said “your crazy”.  I am 31 and never saw the beach. So at 10:30 at night we jump up and packed enough stuff for a couple of days. We drove six hours with no sleep. I don’t think we would have been able to go to sleep anyway. We pulled up at Gulf Beach , Al at around 5 a.m. That is where I fell in LOVE with the sounds of the ocean. I told Angela ” we are moving to the beach” . Again she thought I was crazy. Now we are located in Pensacola,Fl. I would not change it for nothing. So if your spouse wants to do something spontaneous. Jump to it . Cause you ask Angela. Do you want to move back to Bama. She will straight tell you ” HELL NO”. Life can change in a split second. Take nothing for granted. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Being Blessed

All the bad things I have done in my youth and as a young adult . I never thought I would make it past 18. I just want everyone to know I am so grateful that Angela my guardian (ANGEL) was sent to me. Cause only God knows where I would be today without her loving spirit. I know this and I have so much respect for this woman who puts up with a man like me. Everyone forgets to be thankful sometimes. I just can’t believe we have been married for 11 years. Every morning I pinch myself when I wake up. I just am in disbelief that I have a woman and 2 great boys. As a husband and a father . I will do whatever it takes to make sure they have what they need . All the Love that they can handle. Men don’t be a shame to hug,kiss, or tell your family you love them. Don’t let your pride of bull crap get in the way. I Love You Angela . This is my story for the day. Happy Holidays .

What Makes The World Go Around

Earth’s rotation is the rotation of the solid Earth around its own axis. The Earth rotates from the west towards the east. As viewed from the North Star or polestar Polaris, the Earth turns counter-clockwise.

The North Pole, also known as the Geographic North Pole or Terrestrial North Pole, is the point in the Northern Hemisphere where the Earth’s axis of rotation meets its surface. This point is distinct from the Earth’s North Magnetic Pole. The South Pole is the other point where the Earth’s axis of rotation intersects its surface, in Antarctica.

The Earth rotates once in about 24 hours with respect to the sun and once every 23 hours 56 minutes and 4 seconds with respect to the stars . Earth’s rotation is slowing slightly with time; thus, a day was shorter in the past. This is due to the tidal effects the Moon has on Earth’s rotation. Atomic clocks show that a modern day is longer by about 1.7 milliseconds than a century ago,slowly increasing the rate at which UTC is adjusted by leap seconds.
                   In most peoples eyes it’s MONEY. All that is GREED. Which we don’t NEED.

Christmas Time Is A Stressful Time

I know growing up Christmas time was suppose to be fun time. It always was and is stressful on all the family members. You have layoffs at the worse of times. Growing up I had great Christmases to me. Other kids probably wouldn’t think so. Growing up we was so called “POOR”. I didn’t care though . So what I didn’t get much. So what I didn’t have nice cloths. That crap doesn’t matter. My mom might not have been the best of moms in everyone else’s eyes, but she was and is the best out of everyone else’s in my eyes . She always did what she had to do for us. I mean hell. She had 3 kids to take care of by herself. Yes my dad hung himself, when I was 2 1/2 . I couldn’t imagine going through what she went through . I could always tell she had her days when she was down and out. I always had,have, and always will try to make her laugh . Just to lift her spirits up. Make her fill better. Christmas time is a family time. So in those times its hard for everybody. Some kids are so ungrateful at Christmas time. I didn’t care if I got a stick. I would make a gun out of it. Make my own machine gun sounds. If you can go to the tallest building in town . You can see everyone running around like chicken with its head cut off. Christmas time is supposed to be about family,caring,courtesy,giving,being nice,loving,and all the little things. I know I say all the little things are the most important things a lot . I just want everyone to realize . Don’t let life pass you by. There is so much more important than making sure you go buy that big ass toy for your kid. They don’t care at all about that. Wrap up a cardboard box and they will play with it more than that 200$ iPod .I don’t get that stuff you gotta buy this new iPhone crap that tv pushes. You gotta have these new shoes . All that’s Bologna. We had that going on when I was growing up too. If you didn’t have name brand stuff you were nobody. I never owned a pair of Nike’s . Don’t care to. Shoes are meant to get worn out. Why pay $60 for shoes that are gonna go through hell and high water. Don’t make since to me. The appearance don’t mean crap. That is all school is based off of. If parents would teach their kids what is on the inside that is what counts. We wouldn’t go through the race thing . Wouldn’t have to stress on buying high dollar cloths,shoes or whatever else your so called suppose to have to be “cool” these days. We all bleed,feel,breath,and digest on the inside. We all have that in common. So everyone take a deep breath and realize life doesn’t have to be so darn stressful. On Christmas gather all your family around . Give each other a hug. Say I love you. Cause you are not promised another second on this earth and it could be your last time to see any of them. So happy holidays. From the Motley Family in Pensacola,Fl.

The Fallen Friends

Its weird when you grow up with friends all around you. Then when you get older . Some are still around, but you really don’t talk. Then there is the ones that die and you miss the most. I wonder why them. They had a better shot at life than I do. There are friends you run into and they say hey. You can tell that they really didn’t even want to. Some say hey and when you turn around to introduce them to your family . They disappear. I wondered for awhile was it me. Maybe cause I was dirty and had to meet my family there right after work. Nah that’s not it . Everybody has their own issues they have to work out. It really seems like the good ones die young though. I just want to say I miss Brian Fortenberry, Cody Renfroe, Jeremy Parrish, Evan Green, Michael Cooley, Johnny Brown and I know I am probably leaving somebody out, but they are not forgotten. Everyone that you guys know miss you very much. I appreciate the time on Earth I spent with each and everyone of you. Some friends stay. Some friends leave. None are ever forgotten. This is for all my fallen friends.

Human Trafficking Is No Joke

Child trafficking Statistics

U.S. & International

Ark of Hope for Children has compiled the following U.S. and international statistics on human trafficking, child trafficking and sex trafficking. These trafficking stats were sought so we could research theneeds of rescued child trafficking victims. These became our keys towards our plan for the Harbourage safe homes for child trafficking survivors. Statistics are updated bi-yearly and sources are at the end.

Statistics compiled by Ark of Hope for Children

* “When a child has been recruited, transported, harbored, or received and some commercial element is introduced in the production of child pornography, then that individual has also engaged in child trafficking. Whether they work in strip clubs or sweatshops, these boys and girls are victims of human trafficking.”

* The Trafficking Victims Protection Act (TVPA) defines “severe forms of trafficking in persons” as: sex trafficking in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such an act has not attained 18 years of age.”

* “The economic reality is that human trafficking is driven by profits. If nobody paid for sex, sex trafficking would not exist.”

Where do trafficked children come from?

Child trafficking victims, whether for labor, sex or organ trafficking, come from all backgrounds, include both boys and girls. They span a wide age range from 1 to 18 years old. Sex trafficking victims up to roughly 25 years old most often started as young as 14. Children are trafficked out of, or into the United States from all regions of the world and represent a variety of different races, ethnic groups and religions. They may be brought to the U.S. legally or smuggled in.

Trafficked children can be lured to the U.S. through the promise of school or work and promised the opportunity to send money back to their families. Children are also vulnerable to kidnappers, pimps, and professional brokers. Some children are even sold to traffickers by their families, who may or may not have an understanding of what will happen to the child. U.S. born children are also trafficked within the U.S., coming from any racial group, socio-economic background, and come from or trafficked within both city and rural areas.

The numbers;

Update: In 2012 the (UNODC) United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime reports the percentage of child victims had risen in a 3 year span from 20 per cent to 27 per cent. Of every three child victims, two are girls and one is a boy.

Gender and age profile of victims detected globally: 59% Women – 14% Men – 17% Girls and 10% were Boys.

600,000 to 800,000 women, children and men bought and sold across international borders every year and exploited for forced labor or commercial sex (U.S. Government)When internal trafficking victims are added to the estimates, the number of victims annually is in the range of 2 to 4 million50% of those victims are estimated to be childrenIt is estimated that 76 percent of transactions for sex with underage girls start on the Internet2 million children are subjected to prostitution in the global commercial sex trade (UNICEF)There are 20.9 Million victims of Trafficking World wide as of 20121.5 Million victims in the United States

The impact;

Human trafficking has surpassed the illegal sale of armsTrafficking will surpass the illegal sale of drugs in the next few yearsDrugs are used once and they are gone. Victims of child trafficking can be used and abused over and overA $32 billion-a-year industry, human trafficking is on the rise and is in all 50 states (U.S. Government)4.5 Million of trafficked persons are sexually exploitedUp to 300,000 Americans under 18 are lured into the commercial sex trade every yearFrom 14,500 – 17,500 of those victims are trafficked into the United States each year

 According to non-governmental U.S. sources;

Average victims age is 11 to 14Approx 80% are women and children bought, sold and imprisoned in the underground sex service industryAverage life span of a victim is 3 to 7 years (found dead from attack, abuse, HIV and other STD’s, malnutrition, overdose or suicide)

The largest group of at-risk children are runaway, thrown away, or homeless American children who use survival sex to acquire food, shelter, clothing, and other things needed to survive on America’s streets. According to the National Runaway Switchboard  1.3 million runaway and homeless youth live on America’s streets every day. [5,000 die each year] It would not be surprising to learn that the number of children trafficked in the United States is actually much higher than 300,000.

Children are often targeted by traffickers as they are deemed easier to manipulate than adults. More money can be earned by younger girls and boys exploited in sexual exploitation, especially virgins. Pre-pubescent girls are reported to be injected with hormones to bring on puberty. Younger girls are expected to have a greater earning potential, and as such are in greater demand.

Physical and Mental Consequences of Trafficking for victims;

Child victims of human trafficking face significant problems. Often physically and sexually abused, they have distinctive medical and psychological needs that must be addressed before advancing in the formative years of adulthood.Child victims of exploitation can face a number of long-term health problems:Sleeping and eating disordersSexually transmitted diseasesHIV/AIDS, pelvic pain, rectal trauma and urinary difficulties from working in the sex industryDrug addictionChronic back, hearing, cardiovascular or respiratory problems from endless days toiling in dangerous agriculture, sweatshop or construction conditionsFear and anxietyDepression, mood changesGuilt and shameCultural shock from finding themselves in a strange countryPosttraumatic Stress DisorderTraumatic bonding with the trafficker.

Pull factors;

Demand for cheap labor and for prostituted women, girls, and boys is the primary “pull” factor. Common push and pull factors exploited by traffickers include:

Unemployment and perceived job opportunities overseas (into the U.S.)Unhappy home situation: The victim may be in an abusive situation, their family may be in debt, or there may be an addict in the familyRelatives and friends live in the destination countryReturning migrants, legal and illegal, say they have made a better living for themselves

Sex buyers are far more complicit in the victimization of sex trafficking victims. Sex tourism and child pornography have become worldwide industries, facilitated by technologies such as the Internet, which vastly expand the choices available to pedophiles and permit instant and nearly undetectable transactions.

Trafficking Victims:

Child trafficking victims, like other child victims, come from many backgrounds and include both boys and girls across a wide range of ages.Children are trafficked to the U.S. from all regions of the world and represent a variety of different races, ethnic groups and religions.They may be brought to the U.S. legally or smuggled in.Internationally trafficked children, especially adolescents, may be lured overseas to the U.S. through the promise of work or school and the opportunity to send money back to their families.Children are also vulnerable to kidnappers, pimps, and professional brokers.Some children are sold to traffickers by their families, who may or may not have an understanding of what will happen to the child.U.S. citizen children may also be trafficked within the U.S., and come from multiple racial groups and socio-economic backgrounds.

Runaways:

Many youth, especially U.S. citizen children trafficked within the U.S., run away from problems at home and may be exploited as a result of emotional vulnerability, homelessness and the need to survive. Youth who run away from home and engage in “survival sex” often find themselves vulnerable to pimps and traffickers involved in prostitution networks. Approximately 55% of street girls, and a good percentage of boys, engage in formal prostitution and some think it is much higher than that. This means that a child client who has been homeless or living on the street for any amount of time has a great likelihood of having been sexually exploited or trafficked.

The sexual exploitation of children is not limited to particular racial, ethnic or socioeconomic groups, although children from poor families appear to be at somewhat higher risk of commercial sexual exploitation. In fact, most of the street children encountered in the study were Caucasian youths who had run away from middle-class families. One clear theme is the is proportionate number of street youth who have histories of recurrent physical or sexual abuse at home and took to the streets in a desperate effort to bring their abuse to an end.

According to these researchers, child sexual exploitation in the United States affects as many boys as girls, but boys are less well-served by social service and law enforcement systems because of the widespread belief that boys are better able than girls to fend for themselves. Without intervention, research has shown many boys shift from being victims of sexual abuse to victimizing other boys and girls as pimps and traffickers.

People are recruited in several different ways such as through fake employment agencies, acquaintances, newspaper ads, front businesses, word of mouth or abduction. Traffickers may be neighbors, friends, returnees, agricultural operators, owners of small businesses, diplomats and even families. Increasingly, however, the traffickers are organized crime syndicates, often in collaboration with corrupt law enforcement entities, government officials or employers, who may use several intermediaries from the first point of contact to the final destination of the victim. If the victim is transported, they use both legal and illegal means of transport and various techniques to keep their victim enslaved.

They may keep them under lock and key or in isolation from the public and from their family members or support networks, confiscate their passports or identification documents, use the threat of violence against the enslaved person or their families, threaten them with shame, fear of imprisonment or deportation, and control their money.

The psychological effects of torture are helplessness, shame and humiliation, shock, denial and disbelief, disorientation and confusion, and anxiety disorders including post traumatic stress disorder, phobias, panic attacks and depression. Victims may experience Traumatic Bonding (Stockholm Syndrome) – a form of coercive control in which the perpetrator instills in the victim fear as well as gratitude for being allowed to live or for any other perceived favors, however small.

In My Eyes

In My eyes I see the world differently than anyone else. I see hell on Earth. One person commits suicide about every 40 seconds, one person is murdered every 60 and one person dies in armed conflict every 100 seconds.
Sexual Assault in the United States

Somewhere in America, a woman is raped every 2 minutes.22% of victims were younger than age 12 when they were first raped, and 32% were between the ages of 12 and 17.25% of girls and 17% of boys are sexually abused before the age of 18.70% of rape and sexual assault victims know their attacker prior to the assault.Of surveyed college women, about 90% of rape and sexual assault victims knew their attacker prior to the assault.

Sexual Assault within Underserved Populations

 43% of lesbian and bisexual women, and 30% of gay and bisexual men, reported having experienced at least one form of sexual assault victimization during their lifetimes.34% of Native American and Alaskan Native women reported experiencing an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime, compared with 19% of African American women, 18%of white women, and 7% of Asian American women.Among adults who are developmentally disabled, as many as 83% of the females and 32% of the males are the victims of sexual assault.Women with disabilities are raped and abused at a rate at least twice that of the general population of women.A 2007 study found that 5% (or 60,500) of the more than 1.3 million inmates held in federal and state prisons had been sexually abused in the previous year alone.

This is just a small portion of hell on Earth . I know a lot of people will say I am wrong but that’s why it’s called In My Eyes.
